My first :iconskratchjams: entry in quite a while. The challenge was to, you guessed it, redesign Superman.

I toyed with many ideas on how to tackle this and tried a bunch of different designs before I settled on this one. I didn't have one particular desire in mind when redesigning Supes, I mostly went with something that I liked enough and would fit, if not the real Superman, then maybe one in some alternate universe.

Yeah, I got a similar comment before and I agree with you both. I think it could work for an Elseworlds Supes as well though. :)

this design seems more ultraman like, than superman like, and while I don't really like superman all that much, but this makes him look too evil? mean? unheroic? like the style but really dont like the redesign.

Yeah, he does look a bit "darker" in tone but that's kinda what I wanted. I've always liked Kingdom Come Superman who, despite only slight changes, always looks like he means business. That's the kind of vibe I was going for. :)

I don't like superman, but I love this new suit design. It seems darker and not so goody two shoes
